Frequently Asked Questions

How Glimpse works, what's free, and how your study content is handled.

How does Glimpse build a study plan from my notes?

Upload your lecture notes (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, or plain text) along with an optional syllabus. Glimpse extracts the key concepts, generates flashcards, quizzes, and reading cards, and schedules review with spaced repetition around your exam dates.

What file types can I upload?

PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), plain text (.txt), and YouTube video links. Glimpse pulls subtitles from YouTube videos and treats them as source material just like a document.

Is Glimpse free?

The core Glimpse app is free. Glimpse Pro unlocks full exam prep, spaced repetition, detailed stats, card generation, and study chat during sessions. Pro is a monthly subscription you can start or cancel at any time.

How does spaced repetition work in Glimpse?

Glimpse uses a Leitner box system with five boxes. Cards you answer correctly move into higher boxes with longer review intervals (up to 21 days); cards you miss drop to a lower box so you see them again sooner. Your recent answers are weighted more heavily than older ones, and cards need a minimum number of reviews before reaching long intervals. See How Priority Ordering Works for the full details.

How does Glimpse compare to Anki?

Both Glimpse and Anki use spaced repetition to schedule reviews. Anki uses the SM-2 algorithm (or FSRS) with four answer buttons (Again, Hard, Good, Easy). Glimpse uses a Leitner box system with pass/fail grading, weighted toward your recent performance. Glimpse also generates cards from your notes, provides iOS widgets for studying at a glance, and handles scheduling automatically. If you are switching from Anki, you can import your decks directly. See How Priority Ordering Works for a detailed breakdown.

What's the difference between the web app and the iOS app?

The web app is where you build study plans from your notes and syllabus, run full-screen study sessions, and review your progress. The iOS app focuses on practice through full-screen sessions and home screen and lock screen widgets that let you study at a glance.

Is Glimpse available on Android?

Not yet. Glimpse for iOS is available on the App Store today. Android is on the roadmap.

Can I study offline?

Yes. Once your flashcards and quizzes are downloaded to the iOS app, you can practice them offline. Building new study plans or syncing new content requires an internet connection.

Does Glimpse store my uploaded documents?

For study objectives, Glimpse stores the extracted text on our servers so your study sessions and document review keep working over time. You can delete your documents at any time from the objective page, which removes the stored text. Full details are in the privacy policy.
